Andre Leon Talley. When she got married for the second time in 1989 in Goucester Cathedral, Philip Treacy designed her headdress, which marked the start of a now-famous relationship. Blow let Treacy settle in her flat in London, to let him work on his collections. It is Isabella Blow who made Treacy's hats stand out of the rest by wearing them. They were an important part of her flamboyant style. In an interview Isabella once answered the question why she wore these extravagant hats:
"...] to keep everyone away from me. They say, Oh, can I kiss you? I say, No, thank you very much. That's why I've worn the hat. Goodbye. I don't want to be kissed by all and sundry. I want to be kissed by the people I love."
Blow had an excellent sense for style and a natural feeling for future trends. She discovered Alexander McQueen and purchased his entire graduate collection for ₤5,000, by weekly paying ₤100. Blow launched the model careers of Sophie Dahl and Sophie Tennant. In 1997 Blow became fashion director at the Sunday Times Style, after which she went to Tatler as the fashion director.
